Belt Guard Aftercooler for 5-7.5 Horse Power Motor 3/4 Inch Female NPT Fitting

Compressed air can reach temperatures upward of 300°F, so it's often times important to have an aftercooler in your system. This aftercooler can mount directly to your existing belt guard. The intake and output are both 3/4 Inch Female NPT fittings. This cooler is designed for 5-7 HP motors. The dimensions between the bolt mounts are 17.75 x 8.5 Inches. Please see below for more details and specifications.

Features & Specifications:

• 3/4 Inch Female NPT Fittings
• Can Mount Directly To Your Existing Belt Guard
• Dissipates Heat To cool Hot Air
• For 5-7.5 HP Motors
• Dimensions Between Bolt Mounts: 17.75 x 8.5 Inches

Highly effective aftercooler that dramatically reduces air temperature. Customers said it's "sturdy" and "well built," with one noting temps dropped "from 200 degrees F to 45 degrees." Works excellently for moisture removal. Some customers wished inlet/outlet were on same side for easier piping. Great value with fast delivery.

Just what I was looking for. Nicely built, sturdy. Chances that it will fail in the next 20 years is almost nill. Definately 300% better than the cheap radiators for transmissions on the big A. And the price was a nice bonus.I added a 14 inch electric fan, and built 3D printed mounting hardware. Very pleased.. See photos

Great product did what it said

Used it for heat exchanger on an air compressor to drop the moisture content out worked wonderful.

Very good

Very good valueI put this atop my second hand compressor using leftover steel from a scrapped treadmill (who uses those anyway lol)I wired a second hand bathroom vent fan to pull across this cooler. Works like a charm!I know it's on the large side but it is very economical .first coalescer filter collects plenty water from the South Louisiana air

Water no more!

Works great and install went well. I like the fact that you can wall mount it. Just 1 thing but not really even a big thing, the picture is backwards from what you will get. Anotherwards the input is top right corner, not top left. And bottom is vice versa. Just information to note when planning

I installed the unit on the fan cage on the back, like I've seen on other sites, bolted up fine, did not add a lot of weight to the cage, and the fittings worked out good. The Aftercooler brough the temp down from around 230 degrees at the compressor to 88-92 degrees to where the air enters the tank. Great temp difference. Well built unit, will and plan to purchase again.

reduced air temp from 200 degrees F to 45 degrees. Did not have air leaks. Will buy another aftercooler for a 10 hp compressor Well packed fast delivery. thanks

The cooler is well built but I wish it was made with the inlet and outlet on on the same side. In my setup we had to run piping around the cooler .

Nicely made product!

Works fairly good. I still get some water in my air compressor tank. I'm going to hook a fan up to it. And see, if that'll help eliminate that water that gets in my tank. I put a drip leg in And auto drain valve before the air goes in a tank

Buy this one NOT auto style

This is the after cooler to buy!!! Not the auto style. NPT hookup. No fan needed. No restriction issues. Temperature going into tank is 2 degrees above ambient temp running constantly when attached to back of fan gaurd. Don’t waste money on setups you see on YouTube!!! 280 degrees in and 2 degrees above ambient.

Big difference in air temp

Took a bit of time to get it installed the way I wanted, but is well worth the cost and effort.

Highly Effective

Took a chance on this unit. Mounted to the belt gaurd of a 5hp 2-stage upright Eaton compressor. Outstanding temp reduction (very hot going in, room temp coming out) before going through a large automatic water seperator and into the tank. No water has come out of the tank or air lines yet. None.

works great

Can barely touch the inlet pipe but the outlet pipe is cold to the touch.

What is the pressure capability (nominal and burst) and flow rating (cfm) of this aftercooler?

Compressor Source

Thanks for the question, Steve — this is a good one.

This belt-guard style aftercooler is not individually pressure-rated or burst-tested like standalone aftercoolers, so there are no published nominal working pressure, burst pressure, or standalone CFM ratings available for this specific unit. That’s typical for this style aftercooler, which is designed and sized around compressor motor class and thermal load (maximum temp), rather than standalone pressure certification.

What we can share is the intended operating envelope:

This cooler is designed for 5–7.5 HP compressor applications, with that motor range typically corresponding to:

- 60–80 gallon compressors
- ~20–26 CFM output range
- Maximum tank pressures up to ~175 PSI

In normal operation, the pressure inside the belt-guard aftercooler is lower than final tank pressure, since it is installed upstream of the tank and downstream restrictions.

In practical terms, this aftercooler is engineered to safely handle the temperature, airflow, and pressure conditions normally produced by a 5–7.5 HP compressor system operating in standard shop duty cycles.

If your application involves:

- Sustained high-duty industrial operation
- Pressures above typical 175 PSI systems
- Higher-than-normal airflow requirements
- Or compliance-driven pressure certification needs

…then we would recommend looking at a fully pressure-rated industrial aftercooler with published PSI and CFM specifications to ensure safety and compliance.

If you’d like to share your compressor model, tank size, and operating pressure, we’d be happy to help confirm whether this unit is a good fit for your setup. You can call us M-F, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM CT at 402-261-9563 and Dan or Ally should be able to assist you.
