Refund policy

At Compressor Source, we want you to feel confident in your purchase. If, for any reason, you're not satisfied, our return process is designed to be simple and transparent.

How to Start a Return

  • To begin a return, contact our team at 402-261-9563 or [support email] with your order number before shipping anything back.
  • We'll review your return for eligibility and, once approved, issue a return authorization and a prepaid return label.
  • Items sent back without prior authorization may be delayed in processing or, in some cases, may not be accepted.

Return Period

  • Returns are accepted within 60 days of the delivery date.
  • To qualify, items must be returned with proof of purchase (your order number or order confirmation) and in the condition specified below.

Restocking Fees

  • Returned New Items (unused, in original packaging): 0% restocking fee.
  • Returned Used Items (not defective): up to 50% restocking fee.
  • Returns missing original components, accessories, hardware, or manuals: subject to an additional deduction reflecting the cost of replacement.
  • Items returned that are not the item we originally shipped: 100% restocking fee (no refund).
  • Returned Items Shipped Without Adequate Packaging Resulting in Damage: up to 100% restocking fee.

Defective or Damaged on Arrival

If your item arrives damaged or is defective, we'll make it right.

  • Report any shipping damage or defect within 3 business days of delivery.
  • Keep all original packaging and take photos of the damage to both the product and the box — these are required to process the claim.
  • For defective items, our service technicians may ask you to confirm the issue by phone or email before a return is authorized.
  • Approved defective or damaged-on-arrival returns are eligible for a full refund or replacement at no cost to you, including return shipping.

Special Orders, Custom Orders & Drop-Shipped Items

A special order is any item that Compressor Source does not regularly stock and orders specifically for a customer, including items shipped directly from the manufacturer to the customer (drop-shipped), large-quantity or bulk orders, and any item built, configured, or sourced to a customer's specifications.

  • Special orders are non-returnable and non-cancellable once the order has been placed with the manufacturer.
  • It is the customer's responsibility to confirm the correct part number, model, specifications, and quantity before placing a special order. We're glad to help verify fit — please contact our Parts Specialists at 402-261-9563 or by email before ordering.
  • If a return is requested and the manufacturer agrees, at their sole discretion, to accept the items, the customer is responsible for all manufacturer restocking fees and return shipping costs. Any refund will reflect those deductions.
  • Original and return shipping charges on special orders are non-refundable.

Ineligible Items

  • Any item that ships via LTL Freight is non-returnable unless the product is damaged during shipping or is deemed defective by one of our technicians via phone or email.
  • Electrical components — including motors and magnetic starters — that have been installed or wired are non-returnable unless deemed defective by one of our service technicians via phone or email.

Refunds

  • Refunds are issued back to the original payment method once the return has been inspected and approved.
  • We process returns within 48 hours of receiving them in our warehouse.
  • Please allow 5–7 business days for funds to appear in your account after processing.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Return Shipping

  • Compressor Source will provide a pre-paid return label for all approved returns.
  • The return shipping cost will be deducted from the final refund for all returns unless the item was defective or the incorrect item was shipped to the customer.

Order Cancellations

  • We ship quickly — orders placed before 1:30 PM CT typically ship the same business day. If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.
  • Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled and must instead be handled as a return under the terms above.

Pump Returns

Please note: We cannot accept returns for pumps that have been installed unless the pump is deemed defective by one of our service technicians via email or phone. Before returning your pump, the following packing requirements must be met, or no credit will be issued:

  • Use the same box that we shipped your pump in, or a double-strength box.
  • Place 3 inches of solid packing material or cardboard on the bottom of the box before placing the pump inside. (Do not use newspaper or packing peanuts alone as cushioning.)
  • Use heavy-duty packaging or folded cardboard to provide 3 inches of protection between the pump and the sides of the box.
  • If using any loose packing material, apply packaging tape over all holes in the pump head or body to prevent debris intrusion.
  • Seal all seams of the box with heavy-duty packaging tape.
  • Purchase shipping insurance that covers the full value of the pump.

Exchanges

As of November 1st, 2025, Compressor Source does not accept exchanges. This is due to a technical limitation with our inventory management system. If you want a different product than what was ordered, we recommend requesting a return for a refund for your item and then purchasing the new item under a different order number.
