Freight Shipping Policy

Freight Shipping Policy

The majority of the stationary air compressors, electric motors, and compressor pumps sold on our website are shipped via LTL freight on standard pallets, since they're too large and heavy for standard parcel carriers. These shipments require enough space and access for a semi-truck and trailer to deliver.

If your delivery address is in a limited-access area (for example, a residential address, a rural route, or a location a semi-truck can't easily reach), it may be necessary to pick your product up at the nearest freight terminal instead. We're not able to cover additional fees or provide compensation for deliveries to these areas. If you enter a residential or limited-access address at checkout, one of our customer service representatives will follow up with you to go over your shipping options before the order ships.

Freight Surcharge for WA, OR, ID, MT, and WY

Orders shipping via LTL freight to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Wyoming include a flat $175 surcharge per order to cover the higher cost of freight to these regions. This surcharge is calculated automatically and will appear in your order total at checkout.

Scheduling Your Delivery

Once your order ships, a representative from the freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery time, usually the day before or the morning of the estimated delivery date. Please leave a reliable phone number at checkout, since that's the number we provide to the carrier. Without it, delivery can be significantly delayed.

Inspecting Your Delivery

When your air compressor, pump, or motor arrives, take a few minutes to inspect the outside of the package for visible damage before signing anything. If visible damage to the carton or item is observed, the carrier is required to allow you to open your item and inspect for damage. If there is no visible damage and you open the item or skid, you may be charged for detention.

If you notice any damage:

  1. Note it on the Proof of Delivery (POD) slip the driver gives you. This step is required — we can't file a claim for damage that wasn't noted on the POD.
  2. Take photos of the damage and email them to us at support@compressorsource.com.
  3. In most cases, it's best to refuse delivery if damage is significant. If you accept the delivery anyway, you'll be responsible for filing the freight claim yourself. Refusing items or skids that do not have visible damage will result in redelivery and/or return-to-sender charges being billed to you.

By signing the POD, you're confirming the item was received in the condition noted, and accepting ownership of it in that condition.

Additional Freight Charges

Any additional freight services requested by you that have not been previously approved can and will be charged back to you.
