The CI-10 is a 7.5–15 HP two-stage, four-cylinder cast-iron air compressor pump rated at 175 PSI. It delivers 35 ACFM on a 10 HP motor, 28 ACFM on 7.5 HP and 48 ACFM on 15 HP. It has intercoolers between stages, an aftercooler, disc valves, splash lubrication and a 19" flywheel with a built-in cooling fan. It's a common choice for 80- and 120-gallon shop and industrial compressors.
Replacing an existing pump
The CI-10 is a clone of the Saylor-Beall 707 design and a common replacement for the Industrial Gold CA2 (CI1023E120V), Compressor Source CS2105T, Campbell Hausfeld TX2101, CI100000PD and CI15K000PC, and pumps sold as TX2118, TX2001, 5Z405, 5Z405B and Surplus Center 400101. Before you order, compare the mounting bolt pattern (9.13" x 9.63" on the CI-10) and the 3/4" NPT discharge with your old pump. Setting it up
Pair the CI-10 with a 7.5 to 15 HP compressor-duty motor. The 18.98" flywheel takes two B-section belts. The manufacturer rates the pump at 730 RPM, which a 1750 RPM motor reaches with a pulley of about 8" O.D. Our Pulley Size & RPM Ratio Calculator works out the exact size for your motor. Set belt tension so the belts deflect about 1/2" under 10 lb of force midway between the pulley and flywheel.
As a splash-lubricated pump, the CI-10 is designed for a 70% duty cycle. Don't run it longer than 45 minutes at a time without a 20-minute rest. Install it indoors with at least 18" of clearance from walls, in an ambient temperature of 30–104°F.
The pump ships with its flywheel, two intake air filters, an oil sight glass, intercoolers, an aftercooler and ASME safety valves installed. Oil is not included. Fill it with 3.5 quarts of 30W non-detergent compressor oil, to the halfway mark on the sight glass, before the first start-up. A gallon of our MAG1 ISO-100 compressor oil covers the first fill with some left over for top-ups. Change the oil every 3 months or 500 hours, whichever comes first.
