I'm interested in your 3 HP pump. I have a DOERR 3 HP motor with a 2.5 inch pulley. The DOERR runs at 3450 rpm. Is my motor sufficient to run this pump? Thanks.

Hi John!

Thanks for checking with us. A 3 HP motor is the right size for this pump, but there are two important details to check to ensure this setup runs smoothly:

Motor Power: Please verify your motor is a "true" 3 HP. A true 3 HP motor typically requires 230 volts and draws around 15 amps. If your motor is capable of running on standard 110/115 volts, it is likely not powerful enough for this heavy-duty pump.

Pulley Size: Your 2.5" pulley is slightly too small for a 3450 RPM motor. It will run the pump below its minimum recommended RPM, resulting in lower air output and poor lubrication. We recommend sizing up to a 3.25" pulley to get the pump spinning at the optimal speed.

Here is the pulley that would work best for your setup: https://compressor-source.com/products/3-25-cast-iron-single-groove-pulley-a-belt-4l-style-5-8-shaft#
